black-lines

I just noticed the black-lines around the windows for AW m3s...black on a Jet black also. Would like to know, are they always black, or do they come in black for some and silver for others.

If I'm using the wrong terminology, sorry...It's that thin piece of ugly-ass plastic that is either chromed out or black around the border of the window.

On M3's they are always black no matter what the body color is. As far as I know, non-M3 3's always have chrome from the factory.

Haha. Aluminium FTW. All the 335i's cover up their chrome trim and make it black to be like an M.

Meh. I like mine! Contrasts with the black, and not looking to make my car look any better either. Everything's stock. When I get the M3...well that's a different story

"Black lines" refers to a modification of the e90 sedan tail lights

Its always black on the M3s. In Europe you pay extra for the satin black (shiny but shows scratches and stains) while you get the matt finish for free. I skipped the satin since it costs about 700$ and its not practical. Hard water and some car wash shampoos stain in badly and it turns purple.

Your terminology is slightly confusing. Satin is what the standard Shadowline trim is (in-between a flat and glossy finish). The optional one in Europe I would call gloss or glossy.
