Driving Mode w/ MT and Non-Adjust Suspension

Questions on driving modes follows:

I use Eco-Pro for Cruise Control situations.

Comfort Plus for short trips, but:

Sport for most driving, Sport is set up "chassis only"

Sport+ for occasional lunacy.

Questions:

(1) With a MT car and Non-Adjustable suspension, the only thing the chassis affects is steering feel, correct?

(2) as above, there is no change in engine performance in Comfort/Sport/Sport+ ? (This is what I really need to understand, how Driving Mode affects Engine performance/responsiveness.

Thanks.

1) Yes
2) Yes, it just affects throttle positioning. I prefer sport with the 6mt to keep things consistent.

Re 2) Just try to switch from comfort to sport while you keep the throttle steady. The car will accelerate slightly since the throttle is more aggressive. It is noticeable if you drive only in sport, the car feels sluggish in Comfort since you muscle memory causes you to press the gas less, not because the engine performance is any different.

Yes, they are trying to convey faster throttle response, but performance is the same.

Thanks to all, this is appreciated. It didn't make any sense that the EPA would allow more performance/emissions.

RADM - I have used iDrive to change Sport to "chassis only", so the only time I get the throttle response addition would be in Sport+.

Yeah the driver mode "gimmick" is just a nuisance for us MT drivers. In anything but sport, the throttle response is electronically slowed down. No thanks. Mine is in sport 100% of the time.

Same here but mainly because of the heavier steering.
