Suggestions of break pads for e92 335xi
Hi, I am looking for the brake pads for the e92 335xi.
I don't track and it is weekend car. Will be put on new R1 Eline drilled and slotted discs. My car is fbo and I am thinking of upgrade to RB turbo and inlet next year. I have read some of the review and have difficulty to pick the best from the below four: akebono - almost none break dust, little less initial bite than Stock. Same stopping power compare with stock. Hawk Street 5.0 - little break dust than stock, better stopping power than stock. higher price Stoptech - same break dust as stock, cheaper price, average stopping power. EBC redstuff - same break dust as stock, higher price. better stopping power than stock. Please share your comment. Please correct me if I am wrong. I am more toward to the Hawk 5.0 but I heard it may not fit for e92 xi. Thank you so much, Last edited by cedric5555; 09-22-2016 at 01:18 PM.. |

I'm super happy with my Okebono's. Almost no dust and great grip right out of the driveway. No track duty however.

Yes those are the pads I bought. I cheaped out and didn't get the pad wear sensors and just shorted the wires out.

i say akebono's. You shouldn't be hitting there limits on the streets and there ok for a occasional canyon run provided you have good tires. I like the fact they have low brake dust so you dont have to clean your wheels as much.
if your gonna go on the track you should be switching to track pads anyways. |

I'm bias to Hawk, I've used them on my past 5 vehicles.
Stopping power is more important to me then dust. I clean my cars weekly anyway. |
