2017 M2 with 437M Silver with 265/35-19 + 295/30-19 Hoosier R7

MY 2017, production 08/2016, came with Continentals, not Michelins

Huge thanks to Hoosier for providing tires and to Jaco's Paddock for track support.

Front: 19x9 ET29 437M with 265/35-19 Hoosier R7
Rear: 19x10 ET40 437M with 295/30-19 Hoosier R7

Front were rubbing slightly on fender liner in the front with tires turned in and on top of the wheel well above 120mph when hitting bumps at the track. Mostly at Hohenrain, there's a big dip at the bottom right before the track starts going back up and at the bottom of Fuchsröhre.

After a full day at Nurburgring (open pitlane) tire wear was minimal.

Grip level was phenomenal, take a look starting at 3:58 here (pretty short clip):

Did you carry the full set of wheels/tires in the car? Is it on stock suspension or coil overs .....some concern that if I lower the car it might rub too much with this set up.

No, I had track wheels/tires shipped to the shop ( Jacos's Paddock near Nurburgring) and swapped them there. I did three track days total (Hockenheim, Salzburg, and Nurburgring). I only used this setup for Nurburgring. In retrospect, considering minimal tire wear of Hoosiers, I should have used these tires for all 3 track days.

However, hauling dirtly wheels inside would not have been fun... Also, stock brake pads lasted for one day at Hockenheim and then 1/2 day at Salzburg. I then went to Carbotechs. If I had Hoosiers on from the very beginning, I think stock pads would have expired before the end of day 1.

Car is all stock otherwise except for brake pads (Carbotech XP12 all around).

With coilovers it will really depend on your spring rates and ride height. Also aftermarket wheels (width/backspacing) might come into play.

I would suggest going with 18" for track wheels. I went with this setup since I was going to be overseas without easy and timely access to spacers/studs/tools/etc so I did not want to risk having wheels that won't fit.

I didn't mind a little rubbing if it were going to happen which it did

Please don't give too much credit to clearance size on the photos, most of the pictures are not on level surface.

Overall, rear if perfectly fine. Depending on camber gain with lowering it should clear even if lowered.

Front is a touch too big on OD, as I mentioned it was rubbing on top of the wheel well - that was probably the biggest issue as far as fitment. If spring rate is stiff enough with coilovers, that may not be the case.

Here's a pic with rear compressed:

Thank you for the great post and photos! I was just about to get the same set of wheels but in the size is 235 front and 265 rear. Was wondering why you opted for this size?

You are welcome!

I would feel totally inadequate going with tire size narrower than stock, unless we are talking about winter tires

My E30 had 285/30-18 Hoosiers all around

Seriously though, the objective was to get more traction, and suspension mods were not available to me during ED trip, so the only way to achieve the goal was with stickier tires.
Additionally, increased width and OD both help with traction
