hello,
i need serious help my car been acting up so weirdly and i dont know whats going on, first started by dying on me on the high way, i was driving normally going 40 mph cuz of traffic and all of the sudden awd and 4x4 and dcs malfunction came up then few mintues after the navigation screen went off the i got the air bag light then the car wouldn't take gas then it died and i ended up with a dead battery the car wouldnt start, i had my friend jump start me after an hour of waiting then it started and i had no lights or warnings on the dash i drove home fine, the second day on my way to work it did the same exact thing and it died i had to tow it because now every time i put it on drive it start with 3rd gear and doesnt shift at all it only stay on 3rd, the car started over heating and i get the awd 4x4 dcs on the dash as well as trans malfunction i pulled the codes from carly for bmw and heres what i pulled...
please someone tell me whats going on and why is it doing that, i havent been able to go to work for the past 2 days because i have no car.
PS: the battery in the trunk is heating up alot and when car is on it smokes a little and it have smell to it as well, the battery is fine and my alternator is fine too but when the car sits for couple of hours it dies.

I bet its your battery. Looks like time to replace it. Battery in these cars act like virus and throw bunch of unnecessary codes. Start with that and good luck..

It has to be your battery these cars do some strange things when the battery is going out.

I replaced r and I still get the same thing, once I installed it and turn the car on the battery started to boil and smell very badly

You code it through obd but it sounds like u hav a drain. Or your alternator is going

You'll tend to get a lot of BS codes if your voltage is too high or too low. Could just be the voltage regulator.
