E-Brake Boot Removal

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone knew how to separate the e-brake foot frame from the armrest behind the e-brake handle. On RealOEM.com the boot and frame are listed as separate items from the armrest however when I removed mine I noticed that it was from what I could see glued together. I want to have a custom Alcantara shift/ebrake combo made but cant figure out how to separate the two. Thanks

I had Jon from Leatherz.com in my car to look into this.
He said the center console may have to come out to redo it.

I had wanted Imola red shift boot and e-brake boot.
He said it was going to be difficult and me not being in Seattle made it difficult to try different ideas.

I went with Imola shift boot but held off on the e-brake boot for now.

I think the shift boot ties the two red seats together nicely.

I may look into steering wheel tabs or Imola red knee bolsters (although those are difficult too).

check www.leatherz.com for some pictures of dream red knee bolsters, they look great.

I just replaced my e-brake handle with an OEM piece (BMW Part No. 34400404523) which cost me a little over $80 at the Dealer. I chose to do this e-z retrofit because I wanted my e-brake handle to match the OEM chrome trimmed pieces that was already stock & within my interior. The part actually looks very good. The top portion is in layed with chrome, while the bottom portion is wrapped with leather....

Looks nice! The part your hand touches will not be a hot piece of metal on a hot day.
But is it chrome as in mirror shine, brushed steel, or aluminum?
