Eco Pro vs Comfort vs Sport

Just out of curiosity anybody ever tried to see the difference in 0-60 and 1/4 mile times in each of the different modes. Wondering how much (if any) difference there is on a 328

I don't think there would be much, if any, difference between Comfort and Sport as most of what happens in Sport still happens in Comfort if you mash the throttle all the way to the floor. Eco I think actually cuts some of the power to the engine so that might have a different time. Now in Sport+ you can use launch control which could have a minor effect on the time.

I notice a difference in Sport vs Comfort when it comes to response. The same thing goes for Eco vs Comfort. I feel that the response in Eco is numbed significantly, whereas Comfort is the norm and Sport mode really brings out the most responsive profile on the vehicle.

In terms of whether or not anything changes on the engine programming performance-wise when you're at WOT, that's not something I am qualified to answer.

What you are feeling is the gears being held or not.

Comfort mode basically tries to get you the best MPG at any given time. So it will find the gear thats most appropriate to do that.

Sport mode if programmed to include Drive train, it will hold the gear until its ready for the next gear. If you are in the proper gear when you want to accelerate, you will immediately FEEL the Pull compared to Comfort where it takes a slight second to put itself in the proper gear before you FEEL the pull.

Its like if you were driving a manual car cruising at like 40~50 MPH.
If you were to WOT then you would want to down shift to 3rd gear in order to pull properly. ( Sport mode )

If you left it in 5th gear and WOT then you wouldnt feel it till it either picked up to the proper speed or you down shifted ( Comfort )

Least this is how I see it.

The mode also changes throttle response. But, in my experience, it mostly changes in the first little bit of pedal movement.

With 8AT, Launch Control would most likely give you best 0-60....and that requires Sport+.

I have a manual and there is noticeable difference between comfort and eco mode Vs Sport and Sport+ when it comes with the handling of the car and the throttle response. But between Sport Vs Sport+ i couldn't feel any difference (power wise)
Sport+ only turns off the traction control i think..I could be wrong lol

I have a sport line, and for fastest response, I switch to sport mode AND use the sport mode transmission. My baby flies with this combo.

Actually had to use it today on the PA Turnpike when entering. A dump truck was in the right lane at 65-ish and couldn't move over because of cars in the left lane. I went from 40-85 MPH very quickly - got safely into the flow of the traffic and got her back to normal speed (for me, about 75MPH (70MPH limit).

This basically confirms what I said before.

Yeah eco pro and comfort both add some throttle lag, but with comfort it's minimal; Eco pro is quite severe. I drove in Eco pro for about 5 seconds before hitting the mode selector twice and heaving a huge sigh of relief.
