I know flooring the gas beyond a resistance point will activate kickdown if the car is not in dtc on, dsc off or sport+. I tried in sport+, no luck. Car is 16 N55 f32 with sport auto and paddle shifter.
I have been reading user manual yesterday( yeah, i am out of country and i am bored), flooring gas and paddle down shift will activate kickdown even in sport+, dtc on, dsc off?
Anyone can verify that? I won't be back until next week, so no access to my car.

My understanding is kick-down is not active when you take manual control, using shifter or paddles. Other modes when you are in 'auto', logically the box controls/protects itself.

Afaik the kickdown if used in any settings is overriding the sport/sport+ and changes the programmed power settings of the car are default set. So if I set sport and the tilt the shifter inwards to the manual section and push the kickdown, the normal setted powerlines of the car are no longer active and the kickdown takes master control.

Yes, it works as you wrote: if you are in Sport+/M or DSC Off/M you can activate the kickdown by flooring the gas and, at the same time, pulling the left paddle and holding it

Holding it will force the computer to drop it to the lowest possible gear.

Won't flooring it put it in the lowest gear possible? I've been trying to mess around with this lately, can't seem to get it to work. Seems pointless if you have to floor it to get it to drop to the lowest gear (happens automatically).

Actually, I did it. I usually drive in M mode and comfort, and use the paddle sifters. Yesterday I was driving again in M mode, cruising in 8th gear and all the sudden I realized my lane was about to end and needed to pass a car to get in the right lane. Instinctively, I put the gas to the floor without manually down shifting. Well, the car did it for me right away - it down shifted to 3rd and right away up shifted to 4th.

I usually just either use the shifter or paddle and it is a tap and in cars shifts to the lowest gear possible, while the transmission is in manual of course and in Sport +.

In sport and manual the kick down still active without paddle or shifter action.
