Dealership half @$$ tirer rotation

Short version I hit 7500 and requested oil change and tirer rotation since my 340i rwd afterwards I notice my steering wheel shake slightly but kept going straight and just assume it was due to one of my tirer having slightly less psi than all the other according to the sensor. Today I took out all the tirer to install mud flaps myself since I refuse to pay 350 for bmw installation. I notice some of the lug nuts are a little loose but figure it was just an easier angle for me to turn. Once I finish installing the flaps and place all the tire back and tighten everything I took my car for a test drive. Shaking on the steering wheel is completely gone even with psi issue still going on.

Question should I bother complaining about this to the dealer or just let it slide? Personally I'm leaning toward complaining since it the mechanic had the nuts any looser for myself or anyone else it could have cause a serious accident.

In that case I probably would say something.. Not sure I would call it a complaint, but more of a "hey, this is what happened, just wanted to let you know."

As another mentioned... What the hell dude.. Mud flaps?

Edit I just read your above post.. still mud flaps have to go.. paint damage is much prettier.

Most here will hate on you for installing mud guards but I get it. Living where we get lots of weather they will keep the side of you car much cleaner and less rock chips.
I would advise the dealer of the loose lug nuts but unless it is in an official survey they won't care.

Why are you rotating staggered tires?

Even if you complained they could care less. My advice is don't go back to that hole. I went to a dealer near my home and the "mechanics" couldn't open my front hood. Needless to say that was my last trip there.

Let's not be melodramatic, if you find a crappy dealer I'm sure a good one is close. Most of the mechanics are pretty good

My point exactly. I'm grateful to live around at least 5 dealers in my vicinity. If one place screws up my lugnuts, ciao.

Like I just said on the OTHER mud flap thread, I love my mud flaps and don't give a hoot what anyone else thinks about my 340ix.

Even if tires are not staggered I feel like the wheels are different widths which could cause them to be out of alignment. I'll check on this

I never rotate tires on my RWD vehicles. They wear much more evenly than FWD vehicles so I just don't see the need.

I'll check but I've driven the following rwd

85 monte carlo ss
Dozen of cadillac
14 mustang
94 mustang

All of the above I've always rotated the tire and maintained them. It not the rear I'm worrying about wearing in mainly the front from the turn motions. I believe due to my vigorous Maintaince of the tire I have avoid flats, getting stuck in snow, and uncontrollable fishtail and drifts

Yes, what I am saying is the 225 width tires fit the 8 front and 8.5 rear width wheels. If the wheels are different width and you put the 8.5 in front the balance will be off

But I don't have staggered tire, I have 4 matching all season tire since I live in snow country. Either way it a good piece of advice for those who did stagger their tire

No. Staggered wheels come with 1/2" wider rear wheels. Square tires comes with the same width wheels front and rear.
