any diy on xi sway bars?
Hey guys, I just got a set of UUC front and rear sway bars but couldn't find any diy on the xi install. Anyone have one or know of a diy?

There's a few diys. Front is simple, rear you have to lower the subframe. It's really not that bad.

got my front and rear sway bars in! the front was really simple besides for this one bolt which took a while because there was barely any space to get it out. it was a 10mm bolt holding a bracket that was blocking the sway bar. the rear was a pita! dropped the subframe about 3 inches and it was the furthest i could get it to drop. also had to loosen the exhaust hanger bolts because the exhaust was preventing it from dropping more. the old bar car out easily but the new bar being so much thicker and all took forever to get in. but it was totally worth it saving about $500 in labor since I put them on myself. took about 9 hours tho. it mostly took long because i ran out of light and it was getting dark by the time I was putting everything back together. probably took about 2 hours to get everything back in and but the bolts were not matching up for the most part. other than that i never wanna touch the sway bars ever again lol

its night and day difference man! i love it. no more body roll or anything during corners and feels like i can go on the twisties a lot faster than before since the car doesn't lean when i turn anymore. it was a pain to install but i am happy with them. i hear if you only do the front the car will get snappy and oversteer? but i get why you would want to only do the front haha. it only took like 20 mins to change the front bar. |

I used to only do Rear Sway Bars to my FWD cars back in the day, typically too aggressive for the average Joe on the street, lots of oversteer with hard braking and weight transfer. Right now, I'm just trying to get the front so when it's under compression the camber stays correct and it should provide better turn in, less understeer and less body roll. At least, that's what I hope. The Xi is truly a sloppy platform compared to my E92 RWD. |

I've got a set sitting in the living room with some F/R end links, RSBs and a BMS OCC, that came in on Friday. There's only one place I know that still has the sways in stock and they've only got one set left AFIK.

The issue with the Xi is the front suspension geometry and all that extra weight in the front too. The FSB corrects a lot of that. |

A 25MM solid bar would be stiffer then a 26.5 Hollow bar, for example (assuming this is the case if what you say is true). |

even under stock suspension i kept the stock end links. I initially used the adjustable links, but they also rubbed, so i took them out. as far as stiffness goes, the torsional stiffness (compliance) of the sway bar drives the overall stiffness, not the endlinks.
