Talking Why Blacklines are awesome...

because now my car looks like this:

Notice that the true look of the blacklines is NOT "smoked", it's clear. The black plastic visible through the clear plastic is what creates the smoked look. Also notice the continuity of the contour line along the side of the car with the color split in the tail lights.

Excuse the mess in the garage.

I agree. They are awesome, especially with Sparkling Graphite. Thanks for the photographs. They make the board come alive.

I noticed you have a V-Dub in the garage. How do the two compare driving wise?

Pretty car and very nice quality photos!

Q: How do you like the B6 Passat? I might have bought one if the E90 hadn't caught my eye.

I think these suit better on a darker car like Jet Black or SG. Looks good!

Anyone ever figure out why one is lighter than the other side?

They are the same color

They are shiny blackish angled plastic pieces, and their percieved color depends on the angle you look at them and the angle of the sun.

So sometimes pieces seem to differ slightly in color

maybe its just me, but I can't see the big deal with blacklines. To me, the difference is subtle.

yeah, i literally have to look at them side by side to notice the subtle differences. just like the M-sport package. i'm looking and looking and i only see very small differences in the lower front lip and lots of interior ///M badges.

Wow, thanks a lot for the nice comments! What an ego boost! Yeah, I really love how they transform the car. It just looks more aggressive/sporty to me. Oh, and they're exactly the same color; it's just the sun on the left that makes the right side look darker.

I bought the lights on the German ebay (ebay.de) from Baum. They were ~185 euros, not including shipping.

As for the Passat, it's a completely different car, drivewise. I guess it's redundant for me to say it, but it's FWD and it shows (particularly in corners). Muted steering, subdued suspension, and soft seats make it a nice cruiser, though--very comfortable. And the 2.0T is pretty peppy when pushed. It's longer, hence roomier, and has an amazingly large trunk. An all-around nice car, but it's purpose is definitely different than the 3's. At least it feels that way.

Although a chiptune works wonders on a FI car. I believe it raises output to 240hp for the B7's 2 liter. Too bad it's a lease.

Thanks for the comments!
