Decision time: Quick help needed
'06 330-X with under 60K miles at a dealer, one owner, in excellent condition, southern state driven but asking way above the market ($14,400)
I need to decide rather quickly as I need to make arrangement at work for possible pick up tomorrow. Do it or wait for something else, not knowing what that something else would be though LOL) Am I crazy for paying that much for it? I guess, I would still have to do the WP/TS,VCGKT,PLUGS to name few, right? Please advise? Thanks Last edited by quick; 08-05-2016 at 12:52 PM.. |

I have no idea about prices in your region, but that sounds high. However if it has all the options you want, it may be worth it if you need a car ASAP.

I would wait for a better deal. Its over priced and will be worth like 10k in a year or so.

FWIW, I paid $14.9K for my 09 335i with 55K miles back in May. Seems overpriced IMHO but the main question is do you really need an x drive?

Sounds like a fair market value to me. Its not actually worth 14,400 (we all know this when buying from a dealer) but it is definitely worth some money with only 60k IMO. If you really like the car then buy it. If your just buying it because its a "good deal" then hold off and reconsider what you are buying in to. Re consider the AWD models because they are worse in EVERY way besides being "better" in the snow/rain.

I would hold out for a bit unless you really need a car now. The dealer will most likely end up dropping the price or you will find a better deal somewhere else.
Also if you really want it now try to negotiate them down, it may take some time but you can get a much better deal and you will be happier. Tell them they will not sell it to anyone at that price and it will end up going to auction, that usually scares them. I waited about 3 weeks and the dealer dropped from $11k to $10k so I put a deposit right away and I'm heading there tomorrow to check it out. Hopefully I can get a few hundred more out of them. 07' 328i sport 56k miles. Good luck |

Also I agree the AWD is a little slower, less fun to drive, less gas mileage, and you could potentially have more problems in the future near 100k miles

The AWD is great car, handles awesome a bit more heavier but fun to drive. I have never had any issues with the AWD system. Im well over 100k

Two years ago I bought a nicely equipped '08 328i with 62k miles for $14.5k.
The price is very high. Only pay it if it has records of common problem items already repaired, new tires, new brakes, and it's pristine. Then it might be worth it, since you won't have any of those expenses soon. |

When I spoke with the dealer earlier this afternoon, he was suppose to have called me after checking with his manager and 5 hours later, I am still waiting (typical dealer crap)
Though, I am still not sold on the X-d but I am definitely on a -30i, whether it's a 3 or a 5 series I am going out In few minutes to borrow a friends 09 528i to see how the steering feels again before ruling it out for good. |

A 2006 330xi sedan with factory standard equipment, no premium/sport, and 60K miles carries a Kelly Blue Book valuation to a private party sale in the SF Bay area of only $9600

Ok, drove home friends '09 528i with 52K miles. For some reason, the steering doesn't feel as stiff today as it did the other day. It could/must have been the X-drive factor that I drove the other day.
He doesn't drive the car much so left him a VM to call me to discuss the possible sale of the car. Lets keep the fingers crossed |
