Unboxing of the on3 Performance turbo kit

Hey guys I just wanted to throw some pictures up of the on3 turbo kit since there is basically nothing online about what they can bring to the table. The parts seem quality and well made. The welds look purty and not sloppy at all. I did decide to not get the intercooler with the kit because I already have an aftermarket one on my car. Here is the link for the kit:

http://www.on3performance.com/shop/b...-turbo-system/

Here is the parts list for the kit:

I'm still deciding if I want to install the kit because I have medical bills to pay for but seeing the kit makes me really want to drop it off at the shop for install tomorrow.

FYI someone made just north of 530whp with their 61mm turbo on pump gas the other day. I can't wait to see what this kit is capable of with pump+Meth, and also on a pure e85 tune.

I'm extremely impressed by the quality. I was expecting shitty welds and low quality parts. I guess we will see how the turbo holds up in the next few weeks.

great post. I just wish they would get into making turbo-less twin scroll kits. They would move like hot cakes and most likely put JpWorkz out of business.

Is it me, or did they have to grind half the nut off the assembly just to balance the turbo lol

Why would you want to put someone out of business ? I would hope he (JPW) would spend more time refining his process and double checking his orders. It's best to have the most options available even for people who "aren't fortunate enough" to buy some of the more expensive kits.

The practice itself isn't that unheard of when it comes to VSR balancing, I just found it interesting that there's hardly anything holding it together now...I'm obviously no expert though.

Kit looks good. I wonder if it fits the XI models or if it will need a different downpipe.

I don't want him to go out of business. I ordered a kit from the guy lol. What I'm saying is that on3 is a relatively well oiled machine in comparison to JpWorkz and their pricing is similar. If on3 were to take advantage of the t4 flange and twin scroll design the result would be jp being out of business. Jerry is a nice guy but his logistics are fkd beyond belief. If on3 were to offer a t4 twin scroll hot parts kit it would be game over. *assuming the alloy/welds hold up*

Assuming the kit stays together after a few post install runs, I wouldn't push it past 25psi or so for a while I don't think.. Maybe a thousand miles or so.

It's a $300 turbo and $300 wastegates. A pair of Tial 44 wastegates alone cost $100+ more than those combined. I think they should offer it with the junk and the good stuff. Why should one have to eat that $600 if they aren't going to use parts. Take that $600 off which brings it to $2100 then add Tial WGs and basic Precision turbo for $1700. That brings the cost to $3800 which is still good. Just not as good as it looks with the eBay grade turbos. For example DOC racing is $6000 ($5000 if they are still on promotional cost) but they use a $1750 BB turbo and $700 Tial wastegates. At the promotional price it would be $3150 with a $300 turbo and $300 WGs JP kit with journal bearing precision is like $3500. Subtract the difference in turbo and WG cost and the JP is actually several hundred cheaper if you can obtain it reliably.

Over/Under on full boost pulls before that half a nut fails is set at 5.
