On the lapping on Nordschleife I would have guessed a 300+ pound difference. The sharpness of the chassis and engine liveliness really make for a lighter feel. Also the areas in which they moved the weight contributes, much lower center of gravity. That big carbon fiber skeleton behind the dash must be pretty

Thanks for posting.

Would be great to see an M4 with average options (complete with the list of them disclosed) weighed on that same scale.

I am not so happy that its so porky, sport auto had One on the scale and full of gasoline it was 1591kg!! They tested GTS vs 991 GT3 and on same scale it was full of gasoline 1453kg, still GTS was only 0.4 sec slower on the ca 2+ km short hockenheim.

My GT4 is 1430kg full of gasoline, i am not that happy about GTS that porky.

Right.

But not all scales are created equally, and not all conditions around and operations of said scales are the same. From past experience, we've seen numbers all over the map from owners in threads like this.

My point is that it is always nice to have another car to compare against side-by-side.

interesting, but no surprise since any weight lost from the interior/sound deadening is gained back in part from the half cage I'm thinking.

The advertised pork was without cage, etc as this was option(free) on all cars. Then again all 700 buyers did as I hear choose to have the free option cage. Hence they could keep pork down in ads. It was 1510kg unladen weight DIN(unladen applies to cars with standard equipment) whitout options, like no cage, fireX, 6 point belt etc, and extras also without gasoline.

According to German mag auto zeitung they tell us the 991 RS cage was lighter, 21,8kg vs GTS cage 23kg.

Unladen weight EU was 1585kg inklusive 90% full gasoline, 68kg driver and 7kg For luggage. This info is in Gts limited edition book, last page(smal text)

Keep in mind that the US version has standard comp package seats. The fixed back buckets on the euro cars would save a significant amount of weight. I would estimate 70 to 100 lbs

So the GTS exchanges less race useful weight (padding, sound insulation, comfort etc) for more useful race weight like roll cage, water injection, chassis rigidity etc?
