I mentioned in the other thread and I'll paste my comment here as well:
So they compared two manuals and a DCT? Seriously? This is not a fair comparison from the beginning. All should have been manuals. Also, I don't think this guy knows what he's doing either. M4's throttle was set to Efficient!!! On a track test... Are you f* kidding me? Who knows what M2 was set to (Comfort/Sport/Sport+) |

M4 and DCT.. basically cheating... I reckon the m4 will have identical times to the m2 if it were manual, heck it might even be slower then the 1m...

I agree, not fair comparision. If the m4 was a non zcp I bet it would have a hard time putting down the power with the narrower tire setup.

Yeah. I saw that too. But I don't think that will affect the time in anyway. Some people prefer to modulate the throttle on the track using this mode.

Yeah, why would anyone set the throttle to efficient. I know it doesn't affect the power or anything but it may affect the track time a little. Maybe they did this as a handicap since the m4 is a dct instead of maual?

Thanks for pointing that out, one can easily miss that. I agree with the others, Idk that may be done intentionally since the M4 has the transmission advantage over the other two.

Oh no it's Sutcliffe.
Reviews 3xBMW M cars. One is top spec DCT with CCB brakes ROFL. I give up, Winner is a Porsche no doubt. I despise his BMW beating, I won't claim to be a great or even good driver but he's a bit useless really!

Great link , totally appreciate the time taken to put this up. My vote still goes to the M2, more agile, better value for money, less M2's around = more Kudos.

46.400 - 46.100 ain't two tenths
Doesn't see the need for the the DCT in the M2 but praises it in the M4 ZCP? Does not appear to be a very knowledgeable reviewer compared to most. Just sayin'

Ugh, this knob again. I'm not even going to bother watching. Did he let off the gas right at the end this time as well? Or is that only to help the Porsches?

Looks like he had a pretty big smile on his face from the power of the M4 too, @clothseats. In reality both are fine cars and anyone should feel lucky to have either. |

You can't stop the march of technology. Cars evolve and get better with time so the older models slowly become obsolete. What's the point of releasing new models otherwise..

Did you expect him to have more fun in a car with a DCT?

Dunno, probably.
But I think it's about this: The most fun I have is in the smallest most agile car. Having 70(M2) or >100(1M) crank HP less than M4 Comp with such a small difference. Theoretically impossible, but numbers don't lie. With MT boxes....And WHP difference will even be greater. 1M such a great car still. Wow. M2 looks and sounds the part M6, why was it there anyway? Cheers Robin |
