Metallic Lifter Tick

I've had the infamous Metallic Lifer tick on Idle intermittently for 3 yrs .. This time I put in Liqui Moly 5w-30 for the first time ... and haven't had this repeat on me (2k miles) .. I have put in nothing but walmart M1 0w-40 or the LL01 Castrol also from Walmart .... now I'm thinking if walmart oil is the recycled crap

???

It's a myth that recycled oil is inferior. The base oil doesn't really break down. It gets contaminated and the additives break down. That said, Liqui Moly is some really good stuff. Probably the best you can get before you start spending ridiculous amounts. There's plenty of research you can do to find out why, and plenty of oil threads.

On a serious note, i just ordered liquid moly for the second time due to the abve finding.

I too had a stupid clicking noise from the engine, that finally went away by using this oil.
