New water pump issues
Alright so I got a water pump code last weekend and checked it with my Bavarian Technic scanner to confirm that it was in fact the water pump. I ordered a new water pump with new bolts and I replaced it accordingly following a DIY. I just replace the thermostat a few months ago so I didn't replace that at this time I just reused it. I also erased the codes before hand. I've double and triple checked every connection including the hose connections and the electrical connections for the water pump and thermostat. I cannot get the water pump to activate to start the bleed procedure and nothing I have tried is working, including letting the car sit overnight with the negative battery terminal disconnected. I also check the 50 amp fuse in the DME box and it's not blown. Does anyone have any ideas before I have the car towed to the dealer? Car is a n54 6 speed manual e92 335xi

U check the harness that connects to the pump for power? Also depending on how old ur battery is, might need a battery charger to help bleed the unit if your car was down for so long

I'm checking the harness later for power, I just replaced the battery so I know it's not that and I even had a charger hooked up to the car while I was trying to do it still no luck

Yes and no. I did mine 4x without a charger and it started fine. My brother did it once and couldn't start after. So it all depends on how much juice is in the battery

Yes that's exactly how I'm doing it, when I broke my thermostat a few months ago I had to bleed the system so I know I'm doing it correctly

After work I'm going to check the power going to the harness, if that's good I'm going to put power directly to the pump to see if it kicks on. If it doesn't I'm going to say that it's a defective pump
