Aliexpress
Anyone use the website above? Most items are from China however are very cheap. Just wondering if anyone has experience ordering items from the site, etc.

aliexpress is a marketplace like ebay and your experience will vary greatly from seller to seller.
i've had minor success buying electronics from there in the past however. |

I've used it for some small computer parts like connectors for my PC builds. The few items I've gotten are good, but as pointed out, it is China's eBay...

minor success. i bought cheap shit and got cheap shit. if you can tolerate low quality and long delivery times go for it.
that said i'd do it if the price was right. but i'd first check ebay first to see if could find the same thing for a dollar or two more so i could fall back on a paypal refund if it's DOA, fake, the wrong part. you usually can. |

I bought some M performance aesthetic parts for my soon to be car off there. Parts arrived in a well mannered time and the products quality is actually not bad. Will update with photos when I get my car and some of those things installed.
I've used Aliexpress for a few years now and learn to be selective on products. In all honesty, electronic products are not of the best quality. I've bought a lot of LED lights off there and some will hold up for a while but MOST don't. I wouldn't waste any more money there on those types of products but are okay with others, like screen protectors, phone cases, charging cables, or stickers etc. It's not much different than eBay.

I've used mostly for some small electronic components too.
Pro: Cheap Con: Slow (usually 2-4 weeks delivery time, at least to Europe) Low quality For any temporary, prototyping project I would use it. For any car related or more important thing, where quality matters, I would use e-bay with carefully selected vendors, or real shops, even if these are more expensive ways. |
