Is there any fundamental difference between the factory black grille option and the aftermarket options?

The OEM grilles only come in gloss black while there are additional choices if you go aftermarket. Some people (including myself) prefer OEM parts due to fit and finish. This is not to say that there are not aftermarket grilles that are comparable in quality to the OEMs.
