1 step forward 335 steps back
Just wanted to start of by saying I hope this isn't a rant or bash session on the 335 because if you ever met me I've had the absolute worst luck with every car I've ever owned . I've even had a galant vr4 #1902-2000 emergency brake failure and roll down the hill and was totaled by my deck .
Anyway all winter I've been waiting patiently for my Advan TCiii to show up from European Auto Source . Well while I waited I've had my valve cover crack , oem charge pipe blow apart , endless limp mode conditions and finally turbo failure and clutch is on its last leg . With all of this happening I still remained positive because the goal is to throw my wheels on and go to Bimmerfest east . Well I finally have wheels and tires and with super excitement quickly came disaster. I work nights for the rail road and I come home from work in the mornings when you all are heading to work , well with all the happiness of picking up my wheels from the far away tire place that I trusted I came home and test fitted one and stayed awake the rest of the day and went out at night . Time flew and not paying attention I managed to be running on 22 hours of no sleep or any energy. On my way home I fell asleep and struck a curb sized center divider and broke a coilover . It was my fault for not resting like I normally do after work but I wanted to remind you all the importance of sleep and rest . And how this could of been avoided . Now I have to contact Fortune Auto and have 1 coilover made which probably won't be ready for the 31st . This is the first bimmerfest I will probably miss with something worth parking closer to the rest of the amazing cars I've seen from this forum . Anyway stay safe ! |

What was a matter of luck was he didn't kill anyone. There rest is just plain dumbassness.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Gladly noted, I appreciate ALL the comments negative and positive, I'm not being sarcastic or a jerk you're all correct, I'm thankful that I didn't kill anyone, myself or damage any property or destroy my brand new wheels . The point I was trying to make and I clearly see that I didn't make my point because of writing out of emotion.
The point I guess I was trying to make is that it seems like every car I've ever owned I've never been able to make a proper build thread or product review because every time I fix one thing or add a new part on my 335i something completely unrelated breaks or I have a freak accidents that a majority of owners have never experienced. * Yes I know falling asleep is not a freak accident that's human error / stupidity and I take full responsibility. Example I'm probably the only owner who's had their old rear struts completely break and fully extend into both left and right strut towers severing all the fiber optic cables , factory harnesses and destroyed multiple communication boxes making it so I currently haven't had a functioning radio or logic 7 system in my car for 3 years . Or 30 days after having the first oem front aero lip installed and the day after I posted a picture of it on a thread called ( What did you do to your Bmw today ) I drove into a creator pot hole in the dark on morning and cracked it . Hopefully one day I can make a full build thread showing you all every thing I've done to my 335i . These are great cars and have been told that mine felt faster than the mild bolt on Evo 9 MR I use to own . That means a lot coming from an turbo awd background. Apologies for the long read and un clarity of the first post . I've always loved cars I've just never had good luck with them . Anyway you can now start the trolling |

This forum is full of savages sometimes. Yes the OP was careless and evidently he's aware of it and paid the price for it. No sense in coming to his thread to bash him, everyone makes mistakes

Damn, that sucks. Don't they make you watch those boring videos about how to properly rest? My railroad makes us during re-cert every year. Blah.

Yes Rj_ that's the name of the folder and don't worry that's the only car in there unfortunately. Lol I was so mad to lose a classic I wasn't even in the car .
And Ruddigger in mechanical we have rules and regs for hours worked and overtime . The videos and certs I think apply if your involved in any type of movement, ( yard equipment or engineers ) I'm highly considering going back to morning shift . Good to see another railroad worker on This forum !! |

I am amazed that is all that happened. Have you checked the shock tower to see if there was any damage?
You got really, really lucky. Count your blessings. Good luck on the repairs.
