Power folding mirrors help?

Hi guys,

I'm after the power folding mirrors mod for my early 2007 e92 with electric + memory seats.

I found a pair for sale from an e92 SE model. Are these different to what I would have on my MSport model?

The ones for sale have a 3 pin connection. Is there any way to tell if these will fit my car without pulling the existing wing mirror apart?

Any help would be much appreciated.

It will fit provided you have 3pin mirror connectors too (as there is also a 5pin variant). Let me know if you need a hand with coding!

That's perfect then. Literally just swap them over and the controls for the electric mirror should work. Have you got a new switch with the fold button? Then you just need to code.

Make sure they have the gloss black finish - some SE mirrors have a different finish and isn't the same as what's on m sport models

Just noticed the pair I was after had a plastic black finish so the search goes in for now.

How much will the switch panel cost from a stealership?

Guys,

I managed to get a pair of the wing mirrors and the switch panel for a decent deal. £175 for everything (and it is the gloss MSport plastics).

Is anybody in the South London area able to help change the plastic caps and install + code these so they also fold on the lock button?

Any help would be really appreciated as I'm trying to sort these as a bday gift to myself.

Hi mate the plastic caps literally just pull off, very easy to change. Just grip, with two hands if you can, and pull straight back.

Read up on it and you're right. That seems the easiest. When I took the tweeter insert out to check the 3/5 pin connector it was a b*th to put back on correctly so that's the part in not too comfortable with.

No what you mean, did the same retro fit myself and that's actually the hardest part! But saves taking off the door card so can't complain

Parts arrived today. Managed to fit it all in no issues.

Just coding left to do now.

Quick question, will manually folding the power folding wing mirrors cause damage? And is it normal for the power folding wing mirrors to have less resistance when manually folded?

Doesn't cause damage to manually fold them.

New mirrors also look like they have a slight green tint to them. Any idea what this means?

Probably have electrochromatic glass - in which case you can also retrofit this option too - if you have the auto dimming rear view mirror?

No wiring required - just coding.

Do you new mirrors have a faint border line all the way around the glass?
