Rechargeable Key Fob Battery

Has anyone bought this battery? I might try to put it in my spare key (which doesn't change anymore )

Took the plunge and ordered it for $9. I'll give an update soon on whether or not it worked.

CTuna - Glad to know I'm not the only one who charges the key with his toothbrush. I can come out of the closet now!

I have comfort access but I thought that article

I have comfort access but I thought that article
was way cool.
It should work let us know if it revives it.
There are some DIY's somewhere on replacing the
rechargeable battery but fob repair guy says its usually
not the issue.

the toothbrush idea didn't work on my key either(it might not have been a bad battery though)

Well I should have seen this coming a mile away but this project kinda blew up in my face.
I pryed open the key fob and found that the battery was solderd onto the circuit board. I don't have the means or skills to pull this off so i gave up. Then when I decided to put the key fob back together, I realized it was glued. So now I either have to glue the fob back together or order a new shell for $10.
This may have been a massive failure but at least it was the spare key.

It doesn't really make sense to glue it back together if the battery will not charge. Find a local tv repair shop, and find out what their minimum repair cost is, that is how much it will cost to repair it.

You don't have the skill to touch a solder iron to the solder points and remove the battery? Its not hard.. We aren't talking about micro circuit repair.
