Why/how would someone run into problems using the downpipe?

It's literally just a tube that takes place of the cat.

from looking over various threads the vrsf dp looks to be a good choice with a gr8 price point. I think it may cause a cel and u will need a tune to clear it. if i go a dp ill be prob going the vrsf one myself.

I went with the ER catless dps and I was pretty satisfied with them while running without a tune. I'm waiting on the tune till this weekend as the car does tend to jerk alittle. If you do catless just know the check engine will turn on till you get a tune to over ride it.

Just go VRSF. You're overthinking this decision. Buy it, install it...smell the fumes and feel the power.

It's a must have mod.

I definitely don't have any jerkyness and I'm not sure why a car would have it unless something else was altered.

No issues here using the VRSF. Doesn't really matter what brand you're using it's pretty much all the same thing. Just have it installed properly and make sure no leaks and you should be golden

Jerkiness could be the cause of the car not being tuned properly yet, as someone else probably already mentioned you will get a CEL light without something to clear it (ex. JB4).

Does throwing the CEL force you into comfort mode rather than sport mode though?

VRSF is one of our most popular downpipes, spot on fitment.
We never had any issues

Here's a crappy cell phone video. Started in my garage so it echoes a bit. Please excuse the wind noise as I taped my phone to the trunk. It really does sound amazing and I don't find it too loud or obnoxious and I had a custom quad muffler delete on my e90 so I know loud and obnoxious
