Dealer can do the update but they'll be doing he whole car an indy like ourselves will and can zone in on one particualr element such as the gearbox, fuel pump, DSC unit for instance, but before opting to update the gear box ask yourself why you want to do it, if oyu feel your gear shifts are lazy, it feels like it slurs through the gears, you get a thump when coing to a stop for instance you need to take a bit of time out to look under the car for a leak or signs of sweating, if you have this and its damn common you need to change the pan and sleeve once done then thinl about adaptaions resetting/software update, personally I'd like to know there is zero wrong with the box before just updating he software which is why when we are asked to update the software we check first before even going down this avenue.

I HIGHLY recommend Simon to do this for you. He is based in Southampton but can come to you if you want as well. Properly knows his stuff and has proper equipment. He updated the DME flash on my car and gearbox yesterday and the auto box shifts are now silky smooth and the engine really smooth (Bmw 335i). Very reasonable price as well with a non rushed service ensuring you're happy with it.
