Hi, unfortunately I didn't get the M-Sport package (so much regret after almost 2 years of owning and seeing all the cool mods for M-Sport trim), but I really want more from my exhaust.

I'm looking at the 328i MPE as it seems to be the easiest to install but I'm wondering if it'll fit the non M-Sport version of the 228i. Also, is the connector the same for the exhaust flap controller?

I actually like having it closed when I'm in comfort mode as I don't want to wake up the neighbors

I've had one for almost the whole time I've had the car. I love the exhaust. Yes the exhaust flap connector is the same. The entire exhaust system is the same whether you have msport or not so it should fit the same. And to the best of my knowledge, even with a slightly different rear diffuser design, it should line up the same as far as that goes.

Not sure if you're aware but the MPE diameter is slightly larger than our mid pipe. Just get it lined up and welded together. Its a simple job.

I am definitely looking into this now. Just need to find a muffler shop that can do the swap without breaking the bank... (Thanks Bay Area and your overpriced everything)
