340i launch control?

Has anyone gotten this to work? I understand the process and can't figure out how to make it work. I also only have 2100 miles on my car, so I'm not sure if there is a 5000km (3100 miles) rule or not before it activates?

And yes, because I know someone is going to ask. I'm in Sports+, shifter in S, and holding brake/pushing throttle past resistance point.

I've been wondering the same thing. I'm at 200 miles so still waiting out. Only
thing I found was this in the instruction manual.

The only cool thing about launch control is the little checkered flag that comes up in the dash. Everyone does it once.

I'll be giving it another shot later tonight. I'm only getting wheel spin when I try it which makes me think I'm not hitting the brakes hard enough.

just want to confirm that you know the resistance point is the little button after you floor the gas. you want to hold the brakes hard then floor the gas and press the button and keep the gas pedal there to keep launch control going

Yep, definitely pushing it past the resistance point.

I literally tried it like 6 times tonight, and cannot get it to work at all. I'm definitely pushing the brake super hard and the throttle all the way. Shifter in D/S and Sport+. No dice.

start fresh... you have passed the break in period listed in your manual?
next, you have driven without the engine switching off (even with auto stop/start) for 5/6 miles...
next, the normal sport+ switch shifter the left into S gears and brake all the way then floor it passed the button..

do you meet all these reqs for LC?

I don't see any break in period listed for LC. There is a regular break in period of 1400 miles which has definitely been completed.

All other steps are being followed. I even checked the module in E-Sys and can confirm LC is active.

I do it on my 335i all the time

You have to press the brake pretty DANM hard lol

Also make sure your car is in full warm temperatures

and the checkered flags should come on

nothing special about the launch control on these things

Not worth it and not good for the car either.

I have 6k now but was able to activate in the 2k range. I did not try previously. I actually find it much easier to activate this way and it seems to activate every time.

- Car does need to be up to temperature so don't try it when the car is cold.

1. Press DSC button once ( puts car in "Traction" mode)
2. Pull shifter over into Sport
3. Stomp the brake nice and hard
4. Immediately at the end of 3 push the accelerator very quickly past the kick down switch (i.e. To the floor).
5. Indicates active in the instrument cluster and you're ready to go.

Works every time as long as the car is up to temp. To me this is easier than trying to put in Sport+ as it saves button pushing since I'm not in that mode. The traction mode is also seemingly using Comfort settings on the dampers which helps with traction over the Sport setting ( I have the M adaptive suspension). This also keeps you out of Sport+ and doesn't force you to do the shifting yourself.

I eventually got it to work, I don't think I was doing it right initially (even though I read the steps like 400 times). You should see the checker flag, even without navigation.

I still can't get it to work...

1. Engine is warm (being driven for 40 miles or so)
2. Sport +
3. Shift lever into "S" Mode
4. Traction Off
5. Hold the brake hard
6. Press gas all the way
7. No checker flag........

Any wrong step? Any timing error?

All i care is seeing that checker flag. hahaha. It still pulls pretty darn hard.

0. Turn on engine and switch off Auto Start/Stop (should look like this )
1. Warm up engine (drive at least 10 km/6 miles without turning off engine even auto start/stop)
2. Engine is warm
3. Sport +
4. Shift lever into "S" Mode
5. Hold the brake hard
6. Press gas all the way (kick down)
7. checker flag
8. GO (within 3 seconds)

Mine works

Biggest issue I seen with people is they don't allow car to warmup enough and don't depress brake hard enough.

Never knew about the 6 mile requirement. Could be a problem if people wanted to use it on a drag strip.
