M2 DCT vs E90 M3 DCT - GTBoard race

Seems quite evenly matched until the end where the higher power of the E90 starts to pull a lead as the aero drag takes over from weight disadvantage for the E90

Look at that instant jump the M2 gets as soon as the race starts. That suggests a couple of things. 1. There is virtually no lag in gear. 2. This would be a very different race if they started at 5 mph and would probably end with the M2 in front.

Also I'm dying for someone with a jb4 N55 to show me a top end like this, because I keep hearing the N55B30T0 in the M2 is 'just a boosted up N55"

It's not clear to me where the finish line is.

Is the M3 slowing down where the M2 overtakes towards the end ?

It would seem the race ends when the driver runs out of testicular fortitude. From previous videos, I think there's usually a cone marking the end, but I've seen GTBoard races that are closer to games of chicken with the end of the runway.
Also it appears the E90 M3 has an engine tune and exhaust, while the M2 is stock. Even more impressive result.

You are mixing up what top end means. Lacking top end refers to top end of Rev range, not speed. Unless you watched where he shifted you can't tell anything about the top end of this car

Am I? I think that in a race that ended in what, 6th for the M3 that revs to 8.6k (typical with a stage 1 tune) the M2 that revs to 7k is going to be using the upper end of its RPM range. I don't know if you've seen many GTBoard races, but a 50 roll is pretty much a top end vs top end race. Also, I've driven an M2 at a track, it has a great top end.

Umm, from the most respected tuners in the country, it is, at least from a power perspective. Same turbo, same dyno numbers maxed out on a tune.

It's the same engine, get over it.

At least give the M2 credit for its beefed up internals and better cooling/exhaust. Geez.

Regarding the video, that's about the result I expected from a roll. Both very fast cars. From a dig I wouldn't be surprised to see the M2 with a slight advantage due to less weight and more torque.

Are there N55s neck and neck with tuned S65s with stock turbo, stock internals, no meth and an ECU tune? Maybe you might be right about potential power outputs, but it's pretty early days yet. Which engine would you rather max out, the one with built internals, upgraded intake, exhaust, cooling and oil system, or the regular one?
