Maximim PSI in Linden, NJ - Any experiences?

Hey Y'all,

I'm in the Central NJ area for at least another month....and I'm moving forward with the install of a Pure Stage 2 turbo upgrade on my 235i. Right now, I'm trying to find a local shop that will do a good job....and be willing to work with the JB4.

I would ideally go to Enzo, but I couldn't arrange for the transportation of the car without jumping through significant hoops.

Another shop I've been going to is great, but they're stuck on doing a custom ECU tune instead of using the JB4.

So Maximum PSI came recommended by PDU, which is a great reco. I just wanted to see if anyone on the boards have had their turbos done there.

Any feedback, please feel free to let me know. If it's sensitive, you can PM me.

Thanks guys!

I had my turbos installed by Redline Speed Worx on Rt 22 in Green Brook, NJ. http://redlinespeedworx.com/ They did a great job and not only are fine with the JB4, they installed my JB4 for me (as well as downpipes, chargepipes, etc.) Very nice, clean, professional facility.

The guys at Maximum PSI (Mike & John) know what they are doing as well, but they did not do my turbos. They did some work on my Dodson clutch baskets, but RSW did the clutch install. I did recently buy their intake, though!

Recently visited Precision Tuning as well. Met and spoke with Kevin. Also a great shop. Definitely a great place to go if you want a custom tune. Kevin may prefer to do full DME tunes, but he will tune using the JB4 if desired.

So you really can't lose with any of them, IMO. I'd call each and get a feel for their capacity right now and how quickly they can accommodate you.

Thanks man, super helpful. I've been going to Powerhaus in Cherry Hill but their schedule is pretty packed and not sure if JB4 is their preferred tuning solution for the big turbo install.

So how's your M4 run?

ZNM Auto is my recommendation! Matt and Zach are great friends and can also help tweak the JB4 settings to maximize performance

It's running great! Really enjoying the car. Larger turbos are awesome. A little more lag (which is actually a good thing for traction) and then the car pulls like a freakin train. Map 7 on race gas is the shit.

Next step is a back-end flash, meth kit (using boost juice, mostly for cooling and protection) and a tuning session to take full advantage of the turbos on a custom-tuned map 6. I've been resisting meth, but Kevin from Precision Tuning (among others) convinced me to do it for safety, not for fuel. The flash will be for fuel, stacked with the Jb4. At max boost, fueling can't seem to keep up and I'm throwing drivetrain malfunctions when I push it hard. Still running 11.50s in 1/4 mile, but hoping to get into 10s.

Just having too much fun with this car.

How you liking your M235i?

Awesome info man. Yeah meth is a great sub for upgrading the fuel system - at least for the N55.

The M235i was kinda lackluster out of the box in terms of straightline acceleration. I came out of a full bolt on EVO X and a bolt on N54 before. After installing every bolt on, the M235i finally feels quick...but it's not brutal. It does have serious traction issues in 1st and 2nd.

Worst of all is my buddy's Renntech E63 keeps smoking my ass. Lol. If I had to guess, my M235i is probably capable of running low 12s (but not with me driving, haha). On Map 7 (MS109/93 and meth), it puts down ~375whp and just under 400wtq. On Map 2 and 93, it's about 325whp/345wtq.

So really looking forward to getting the Pure Stage 2... It's supposed to run 500rwhp on JB4 and meth.

Yeah, I was at first going to go the Port Injection route, but grew too impatient to wait for Fuel-It to roll theirs out. So decided to do meth for now and I'll swap it out later maybe. ...or not. heh.

Your car sounds great! You will definitely like the Pure Turbo upgrade.

Thanks! Would love to see your monster M4 in action too. Jersey is way crowded but there are some good roads at night, haha.

My car should be done in a couple of weeks. Then will hit Atco, E-Town or Island dragway. Come on down...

If Etown, you wanna pilot my car? I had leg surgery (4 weeks ago, femur cut in 2 pieces) so can't drive... My wife can drive it down.

Sure!

Ouch. How'd that happen? Why the surgery? If you don't mind me asking...

I busted it in jiu jitsu. Shit, I wish.

No worries. I had 3 surgeries in the last 6 months related to a childhood defect in my legs, which was corrected but left the joints prone to early arthritis. Add in lacrosse, BJJ and weight lifting...haha.

Here's my favorite pic.

Def keep me posted on a drag run. I'll invite some buddies. Renntech E63 and Z4M.
