If you have a voucher you can get your car from ANY dealership and so should check around until one gives it to you for MSRP. If no voucher, expect #3 all the way...

I guess it all depends on what expectations your dealer has provided for you as well as what you are willing to pay to own the car. I voted for MSRP plus 5k since my dealer initially asked me to pay 5 plus for my M2. I paid $2500 over but will go to plus 5 on the GTS.

@jml, The GT cars sure have been commanding a premium but I find that's cooling quite a bit. 3's are starting to settle to just over MSRP level (maybe due to the upcoming 4.0/manual 991.2 GT3s), new GT4's can be had at and even under MSRP and dealers are all coming down off the astronical askings of 3RSs, even autogallery.
In relation to the M4GTS I find its exclusivity is more along the lines of the 911R and although it is smaller in build run at 700 v 991, it was certainly easier to get!!!! (Waving fist at the 918 VIP buyer program). |

I, like you, am happy about the M4 GTS and can't wait for mine to arrive. But my point was for the people flabbergasted on dealer markup and the naivete that people buying their way in are looking at more than 20K....porsche has raked people over the coals for decades...and we like it somehow- S&M i guess. |

Oh, I know, but I might have just interpreted the poll. I initially thought it was opinion/preference based; so I naturally thought, "why would anyone want to pay above MSRP". Whether or not they had to didn't factor into my comment.

Or the 991 R there is one for sale for 750k euros....the mind boggles at the current "mania" in certain parts of the auto market.

My dealer has still not committed on a selling price for my allocation due to arrive late August. He simply said that there was an auction car that went for 50k over MSRP. Thats like saying all Z06 corvettes should sell for 1 million dollars since Hendricks paid that much for his. I simply informed my dealer that I told them about the car in the first place and that 76% of customers are expecting to pay MSRP. The car is a sold order reserved for me and I have been a good customer of the dealership. Any dealer trying to make big profits from regular customers are considered scum. Bottom line is that while management says there will be a market adjustment on the car, my salesperson says he is going to try and negotiate on my behalf. I think this pole and opinions are very important to try and determine what is fair verses what is price gouging.

Paying a premium (over MSRP) and ok
I am one of the automobile zealots paying over MSRP (#4) and am honestly ok. Not because I live next to the Rockefeller's, the *Clinton's (*note: via money "legally" obtained through the Clinton Foundation and misc donations from surreptitious countries), and or *Donald Trump (*note: via money legally obtained through leveraging every tax loophole available).
