N47 Help With Manifold

Trying to remove my manifold and it is stuck, the end at the alternator is free to wobble and so is the end up against the bulkhead..

It's as though there's something in between the last and middle top bolt holding it down that I can't see...

I'll get a video to show the movement I have

On my last BMW which had the M47 there was a bolt on the dipstick tube underneath that bolted to the manifold - not sure on the N47 tho

I managed to get it. There's a tube that goes from the manifold to the head that seals with an o ring and it just needed a little spray. Cheers though

I was about to mention the tube, it just needs a confident pull and it comes off
Don't forget to check for trapped wires when you reassemble!

are you removing the swirl flaps by chance, if not its worth doing and giving it a damm good clean out with mr muscle oven cleaner and a jet wash, mine was filthy after 60k miles, after removing flaps and a clean MPG went up loads from 31mpg to 41mpg just town driving

Yeah I went to but things changed and I needed the car quickly so soaked the manifold in caustic soda and inspected them and they looked fine, cleaned throttle valve as well and put it all back together

Strange though because since I put it all back together I've got an EML on with an EGR Control fault code! Pulling my bloody hair out with this things

Just make sure you check all the electrical plugs that they are correctly located and that the metal pipe under the manifold is seated.
