Did i make the right choice?
Hey!
So i just order my first new car ever. And its a BMW 430i Grand Coupé. Im super stoked about the car but i dont know if i made the right choice in color. So i first went with the Sapphire Black Metallic. Thats the color of the car i saw at the cardelar ship and i thought it looked nice. So i actually order my car in Sapphire Black. Time went by and for some reason i didnt feel good about my choice. I felt that the black color concealed the lines of the car in some way if that makes sense. My friend got the 428i in White and i think it looks really good on that car. I changed the color to Mineral Grey Metallic last minute, so now thats the color that its goint to be. I look at pictures of that color and it makes me crazy. Some pictures it really pops and looks great and others it looks flat. I want it to look like this :P : I dont know. Maybe i just came here hoping you guys will tell me its a good color so i can feel better about it |

Black looks nice but its hard to keep clean. I own an estoril blue 335 and it always looks clean from a far distance, but once you get close its really dirty.

MG is a great choice.
I do agree that you lose some of the lines with black. |

Hi OP, I had both colors recently, the black sapphire on my Z4 and mineral grey on wife's current X1
For a 4 series, I think mineral grey is a good choice. I too felt the black hid the details and lines of my Z4, EXCEPT for those first 1-2 drives after the car was freshly washed and waxed, when it looked amazing. |

Man, it's always hard picking colors. My last car was SB and so is my current. A lot more work but when it's clean (which I wash 2 times a week) it looks super sweet. That being said, I have always liked the Grey as well--right now that would be my second choice. I think it lends itself to a sporty look in a more subtle way. And what interior did you pick?

I actually went with the stock interior which is black/blueisch Hexagon/Alcantara antracit. My budget didnt allow me to get leather unfortunately. |

I'm very happy with the Mineral Grey but the truth is once I fire up that B58 it wouldn't matter if the car was pink with green stripes, I'd still be smiling. Enjoy!

Mine is dark blue because I like blue and I wanted to have a blue car for a long time. I regret gettint that color ever since. First because unless the car is in direct sunlight, it doesn't really look blue. Second, I really like carbone gray colors or something close. Should have gone with this instead.
So unless you go for something like the Estoril blue, I think you made the right choice.

Mineral Gray wasn't my first choice, but it was hard finding a manual/RWD around here.
After having it a while, I really like it. In direct sunlight, it is a little flat. But in the morning, evening, and on cloudy days, it can look really good. |

The MG will look fantastic. Please post photos when you get your car.
Honestly, I did not expect the term super stoked to come from a post from Sweden. Nice, but unexpected. While the term stoked may have a long history, my memory of the term was from my surfing days in Southern California back in the 60's. Stoked and bitchin were the words of the day. Thanks for bringing back a memory of very fun times. Welcome to the forum. |

I struggled with color choice on my car also. Had a lot of silver cars so I wanted something different. I chose the Mineral Gray. It looks great! Shows the lines of the car really well. The key with any darker color is to keep it clean and be sure to wax or use a sealant often to preserve the shine!!!

you might be disappointed if you expect the exact same color experience in every lighting condition. you might be delighted/intrigued over a long period of time if you are pleasantly surprised how the color effects change in different lighting conditions. |

The MG with CR interior is just awesome. MG well maintained is a pretty cool color, but I think the interior color combo is key to making the car really look hot. I'm a big endorser of Coral Red.
