Mark, if I was ever fortunate enough to have the money, a GT3 RS would be be the car I'd have and it would be orange. For now though the Lego one will have to do only 911 hours to go until collection, may have to do a build thread

Yep Im 100% with you on that

My Lotus is orange and I would defo get an orange GT3 RS if I was in a position to do so, or maybe lime green, no sod it if I could get my hands on one I would settle for a pink one with transfers of dog turds on

Lime green gives it a good run. Always liked the Lotus Scandal Green on my Sport160, if ever a car said get out of the way just by its colour, it was that one

Lego Technic is an acquired taste, even within the LEGO fan base. They have achieved a great model given the elements available to them. This will be a very special set for the died hard Technic fans, of which I am one

Congrats Chompers, you impeccable taste, and lava orange too. The model looks a bit fragmented but that's the ways it's got to be.

Assembly Instructions an optional extra....?

Agreed, but given the constraints of the Technic elements available, it's a fantastic effort. They have even been able to replicate the PDK in Lego As for the instructions, the book looks fantastic. They have really raised the bar with this set. This video is well worth a look if you are inclined.

Fair play I take it back, that's pretty cool indeed. The PDK shifters lol! Great they picked the lava orange rather than the purple.

Man that car in the real world is just epic!

Damn collectors with 918s in the garage have snapped them all up. Only kits will be on eBay for 1.5x the price and 'used'.

Feels familiar....

You are not wrong, early ones sold for around £400 on fleabay, so good guess at 1.5x

Under stand your pov, it's true build that I find enjoyable. No, the completed made is not perfect but they never are with Technic, a lot is let down to the buyer/fan to add/enhance as they see fit. The actual instructions had an error in the PDK build section that was soon sorted out by some very clever fans and info given out for the fix. ETTO

I know Technic sets have very close to 0% depreciation on opened built sets and in some cases make well over RRP unopened just after they go end of line.

As far as an investment goes and with knowledge Lego can be very profitable

I have just ordered one of these as I forgot earlier on. I was going to build it with my lad, but you are making want to wrap it up and hide it in the loft!
