WeatherTech Floormats

Anyone trying to get these. Their website only lists the regular 2-series. And it only has the rear seat foot-well.

I wanted to get them all, especially the trunk mat.

What are you guys looking to get?

I got an email back from a rep from WeatherTech. The do not have any fitments for the Digitalfit at all, except for the XDrive 2-series.
Are the Xdrive footwells that different from the other 2-series?

I ordered the full set from weathertech for the 2. They fit perfectly in the M2. Front, back, and trunk liner. All perfect.

Sounds like it. I had the same problem but never thought to try the xdrive. Sounds like they fit fine.

I love their checker patterned mats; I just can't get myself to spend that much $$$. I just ordered the M-Performance mats instead

Can anyone confirm that the weathertech floor mats still have an issue with manual cars and the clutch getting stuck?

I've heard this mentioned before but find it hard to believe weathertech would allow such a flaw persist, given how well their mats fit the intended model... eg not one mat to fit them all.

I'm wondering, if some customers do not receive the carpet "hooks" to secure the mats. So instead they just put them in the car unsecured and they end up slipping further up catching on the clutch.

I have a DCT, and when my weathertechs arrived they did not come with hooks. So I improvised and placed industrial self adhesive velcro (soft) underneath to align with the OEM velcro mounts - my mats are locked in place

Happy to post pictures, just let me know

Sure thing - it's funny, I took these pics for my build thread and forgot about them.

Here goes...

With your weathertech mats you are supposed to receive a set of hooks similar to these:

... but these don't always come in the box - a common problem. You could contact weathertech to supply them or try the velcro solution.

Here is the underside of an OEM M2 mat with the OEM velcro hooks stuck on. The softer side velcro is part of the carpet, and the rough side of the velcro is on the hooks (disc):

So I flipped the driver side WT mat over... placed the hooks face up and positioned them into the holes:

So now, with a pen/pencil create an outline of the pad/disc. I wanted a larger circle so that I had more room to fine tune so you can go bigger or stick of oem disc size.

Finally, fill the marked area with "industrial velcro" strips (soft side):

^ Don't cheap out on the velcro, buy a quality offering - look for "Industrial Grade"

I buy my velcro from ebay, plenty of "industrial" grade on there.

As a short cut, I guess you could just plaster the first quarter of the mat with soft velcro and call it a day, but I don't like to waste the velcro as I use it for many things.

Visually they do 'look' great, but have nothing like the same sidewall protection as the WTs.
