Opinion on second-hand headlight condition
Previous owner of the car managed to "fog up" the inside of the front left headlight with a bonehead move (using tape to keep bulb cover in place... heat+tape = not a good combination).
Looking for a replacement and saw this - pretty cheap for a near-complete assembly: http://www.marktplaats.nl/a/auto-ond...rce=systemmail However, from the pictures it seems one of the white plastic "caps/valves" - don't know what else to call them - is soldered in place, not a good sign. Can't really find the function of these white plastic pieces - can someone shed a light on this? And why would someone solder them fixed? Attached = pics of own headlights, link contains pics of possible replacement

Found the solution myself with better search terms - for posterity:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100799 Decided to go against these and keep on searching, soldering the cap down probably means either it is broken/falls off, or the adjustment doesn't "stick" under normal conditions. Can be closed
