alloywheelrepaircentre in Ealing - avoid at all costs
Bought a set of 18" 405M wheels from a BMW main dealer (brand new with tyres, never been installed to a car), as I intend to use them as winter set I need to split the RFT summer tyres from the rims.
Had a few bad experiences with various tyre fitter so I was very careful in finding a place who will not mark the rim. alloywheelrepaircentre.co.uk in Ealing west London seems ok as they refurbish alloys, told them these are brand new forged wheels, and was promised they work on refurbishing alloys and certainly won't scratch the wheels. Brought the wheels in, and after a few minutes the chap already working on the second wheel, while I saw him with a metal lever and immediately stopped him... this is what I got When asked, the manager says these marks must be there already! what a bunch of monkeys! |

Feel really gutted for you It's a joke how these so called professionals don't bother to look after your pride and joy. It's almost getting to the stage where you need to inspect the car with the dealer/fitter/whatever to agree that it is damage free up front - that way when they swirl your paintwork or scuff your alloys, you've got some redress because the first thing they'll do is deny it.
I suppose you do get people who'll try it on from time to time, but anyone who goes to the trouble of telling the fitter to be really careful with an brand new unmarked set of wheels is hardly going to be trying it on. Besides, any self respecting trader would have listened to you and then checked and brought any pre-existing damage to your attention before doing any work. Bar stewards!

Thats shite service!
That's made me worry now. I've got 2 new tyres coming from oponeo for the rears on my 20" 405m's. My local Indy tyre fitter always does them and never had any problems before, but I am slightly concerned as they are immaculate. Damage would really piss me off. |

That's disgusting. I'd demand each damaged wheel be replaced with new, and not let it go until resolved.

The end. No matter where you are in the country have a courier deliver them. Lepsons quality is spot on. I would not trust anyone else. |
