DPF removal, can't pull it out
I am going to search forum but maybe somebody can point me directly what i am missing.
So i took out the SCR catalytic with pipes, but that DPF is not going out, it is very tight in there, and i couldn't find position to take it out. It is nearly fit but definitely missing something. |

What now sucks for you is the loose DPF is in your way to get bracket off. We always leave DPF alone until bracket out of way.

I think I remember correctly. Second time around I removed only the bracket, not the mount. Obviously, bracket needs to be unbolted from the mount. Bracket is a bit of a pita to put back on as bolts have to line up perfectly. For the middle bolt inside the mount, just lightly tape the edge of the bolt to the female torx socket to control it better going in. Wish they your make the DPF slightly smaller so it would slide past the bracket without the removal.

Jacking up the motor by the AC compressor a bit helps a lot. Bohl recommend that and worked great. Getting to the inside of the 4th bolt threw the hole of the mount/ Looks like an A arm was a PITA. I used air rachet and swivel joint. Once you get out the mount and bracket 02 and EGR sensors you'll have to wiggle wiggle wiggle it out.. 2nd person does help. Once out grab and cold Beer and chug.

Lexx.md would you mine posting a few pic's,
pretty sure My DPF is clogged, all the indicators point to that, codes are telling me back pressures is two high, so its removal time, I will probably have it cleaned. I assume your deleting yours? wont you have to do a remap to keep SES lights coming on? |

Agree with Heather, not that bad once you have a plan of attack. I had to pull bracket again this last summer even though DPF was long gone and down pipe in its place. I had no trouble with pulling bracket the second time. One of my EGTs up front will need replacing if I go back in there again. The wrench flats got a little bit abused. I need to put that down on my next Husker order just to have it handy. I understand the two EGTs upfront are different part numbers so I need to be careful.
Gary, if you pull it. Please know that there are many here to talk you out of a tight spot. |
