What are symptoms of overfilled oil?
Oil light been coming up frequently.. I didn't think about anything and kept adding 1l/quart...
Was about to go to a mechanic to drain the oil and check if it's low or it's overfilled. Had add oil light for couple days. Today I added like 0.4 of a quart and drove out to city, car was idling weirdly, was almost dying and engine kept reving itself up not to die. Then the engine light came up, I was near home so drove back. Is this possible due to engine oil overfill and bad sensor? Or it's different engine issue? Now I guess I need to get it towed to a mechanic.. |

I went through this on my Nissan and finally decided to drain 1 qt (never having started the motor after the overfill). Some UK website said first sign is blowing out the rear main, then blowing out the front, and lastly due to the frothing, ruining the main bearings. To me it sounds unlikely? Just by 1 qt.? But it bothered me enough that I got under the vehicle at 23:15 EST and drained the oil using my COB led worklight, peace of mind...

Most likely you have a vacuum leak and it's from a bad CCV. On the '06 models the CCV is under the intake manifold. When it fails it creates a vacuum leak and can also consume a lot of oil. Another symptom to look for is a lot of thin blue smoke as the oil is getting drawn up through the intake and burnt off.

It's weird, because I had to add oil every 500 miles/km then it dropped to 100, now when I added oil this happened... Hopefully it's fixable and not a total engine failure |

A vacuum leak will definitely cause idling problems.

But YES make sure you have the proper amount of oil in the car. I'd suggest you perform a full-on oil change sooner rather than later. That way you know just how much oil you have in the engine.
