Yup another positive one. Im waiting for Evo's Euro review.

These reviews have got me wondering if DCT is the correct choice.

It's not bad but really doesn't expand on anything that's already been said.I suppose they will reiterate when the UK road test is done by them....Same goes for EVO.

Where has the 1900 come from ? Last time I understood it we were getting ~ 400 for the first year,or do they mean for the whole of production.This figure seems to change weekly depending on who you believe

I'm sticking with DCT,a relaxed 7th gear won't be so intrusive on the M'way and with both hands on the wheel will help me exploit tail out fun

I think they mean for the projected life cycle of the car. (This Gen) Ive seen this mentioned elsewhere. Isnt it roughly 4 times the No. of 1M.

I think the true drivers choice, for maximum involvement and engagement, will always be the manual - that is true of most cars.

The environment it will be used it will be the decision maker on the gearbox -
Manual all the way for me.

I can see the case for manual and im sure if I was a road tester given an M2 to rag around spanish hills for a day I would say manual was king too.

If they were to use it as most M2's will be used, part daily, maybe have another family car and as a weekend toy i think DCT would be favoured more.

For me its DCT. Ive got another car to experience a great manual so for me DCT suits my usage more.

Either way I dont think you can go wrong.

Sport Auto(from the famous Nordschleife/Hockenheim laptimes) and their sister carmag Auto Motor und Sport are a bit more positive about DCT than about the manual tranny saying someting like: come on guys, this is 2016, welcome to newer/faster (shifting) technology, if BMW(M) wants to stay with and not behind their competition, DCT(DKG) is the way to go...
