Forgestar F14 Wheel Failure

Came across this today.....moral of the story check any wheels thoroughly before a track day. At least he took it well. Damn.

Moral of the story, don't track on thin spoke wheels that are designed for look rather than strength. Doesn't matter it is cast, rotary forged, or fully forged, wheels with weak design will fail under track use.

Just have a look at all the HRE forged wheels from a few years ago... That said, there is no reason why you shouldn't just buy a sex of apex wheels, considering how popular they are with BMW track cars, you still can't find one reported failure on the internet.

APEX does seem to be a great "lower" cost option for a good set of track wheels right now.

I wouldn't put another set of F14's on a car if you gave them to me.
I had F14's on my car.
Cracked three wheels in daily driving. They are not stronger than a cast wheel.
Forgestar wants a premium to replace a failed wheel with no discount to be had.

Now running APEX without issues.
They stock the wheels for single purchase and will give a discount on a failed wheel.
APEX!
