How Long Can BMW Hold Car After Production for ED

Does anyone know how long BMW can hold the car in Europe? I have just been given a June build date (Wohoo!!!!), but was planning on a September ED pickup. My dealer's regional rep thinks that BMW can't hold the built car that long. I'm sure he is not trying to be malicious, just wants to be sure I get the car because it was really difficult for them to get the allocation.

Not sure. Might want to try posting this question not he M3/4 board. In the Euro delivery section. A lot of folks there have done Euro delivery so I am sure someone has an idea of what limits BMW has on time.

I'll check with a note definite answer later in the day.

I believe it is 3 weeks.

I know South Carolina can only hold a vehicle for 2 weeks after the delivery date has been given.

But at the same time just because your build date is June does not mean the vehicle is guaranteed to start in June. If your Adviser puts in your ED request now for September it might work out in your favor. But you have to start the ED paper work now.

I don't think they will hold it 3 months.

I asked the same question before I ordered my M2, and again when I ordered my M2. They told me on both occasion there was no limit that they knew of. I'm #3 on the list, I even suggested pushing it out 6 months or so, again they said no limits.

While I understand this could be a lack of knowledge around the subject for the dealership but they seemed pretty certain it was just up to me and when I pick the ED date.

We shall see...
