Yay Engine Malfunction -.-"

I was coming back from a BMW MEET in Mexico "Denver" and I saw a M4 next to me and wanted to see how I would hold with a JB4.(EVERYTHING WAS DONE IN MEXICO)
Long story short we did like 4-5 races from a dig and rolls, after the last roll I get to about 135MPH and "Engine Reduce/Malfunction" came on. I pulled over to the side turned of the car waited like 10 min and turned it back on and it was gone. I drove it normal the whole way home but decided to floor it again to see if it would show up. Got up to 95MPH and nothing appeared. Now my question is what am I looking at for cost and fixing? What could this mean? Could it be an injector/coil? Temperatures stayed average so that was not it.

It's going to be really hard to help you without codes. Any other symptoms? Rough idle when you pulled over?

Did you make sure to warm the car up by idling for ~15 minutes before you left the meet?

Most likely just a misfire. After 4 runs iats were probably nice and high just like the citizens of Denver.

Why would you waste your time posting this question without posting what codes were thrown?

Because it happened last night. I can just post the codes just yet till I actually scan it, I'm going to be scanning it today though.

Typically reading codes would be the first thing to do.

Agreed 4 hard runs back to back to back to back, I wouldn't be surprised to get limp mode.

If you're driving down to Mexico from Denver for a meet and racing with m4's going 135÷ the very least you should be able to do is pull codes and figure out yourself..
