Totalled

This happened last friday april 1st.

long story short… I was parked in my work parking lot and while working at my desk there was an office wide email sent out notifying a few car owners to report to reception.

I thought it was an aprils fools joke… went outside to find my car like this. transport truck came through my work parking lot where it says "NO TRUCKS" (trucks have their own separate entrance) and the driver made a left turn that would be impossible for a transport truck to clear

Looks like that ass should be loading trucks, not driving them.

Thanks everyone. Was definitely upset... Took a long time to find that car and I only had the pleasure of enjoying it for 1 year 9 months

Luckily insurance is being great with me

Time to start car shopping. I'm thinking
1) 2013 e92 335 msport
2) 2013 f30 335 msport
3) 2011 e92 m3

E92... F30... The list can go on forever of the pros and cons between the two. For me it'd be sacrificing handling for style and size

M3... Would love one but it'd have to be a couple years older and be my daily driver all year

neighbouring company noticed my car in the parking lot and reviewed their security tapes. truck driver was still on site making a delivery to them and confronted him. should bring the guys who noticed my car some coffee and donuts… they saved me massive headaches dealing with insurance by making sure the truck driver stayed on site

There's no reason for that truck to do that. 150% his fault. It's really not that difficult to see if your trailer can make that turn, hence they have multiple angled mirrors. It's also not difficult to back it up either.

I used to drive semi trucks.

That and a big bottle of crown! What a POS human being that driver is to do a hit and run with signs stating for trucks to use another entrance, then continue with his deliveries like nothing happened. I'm glad you kept your cool..I would've been so enraged his knee caps would be broken right there and then! Ensure that driver gets fired ASAP also, gl with everything OP

surprised a t-bone wasn't a total. hope you were fine and the car repairs were like new

not sure if i'd use the term 'lucky' haha its going to take me weeks or months to find another car i actually want… i'm fairly picky. but i'd have rough time selling it years down the road and/or take a hit on the resale value with an insurance claim of $21,000+

mechanically, everything in front of the physical engine block was pushed inwards, so that all had to be replaced. plus front and rear bumper, hood, quarter panel, both headlights and full exhaust. car was also pushed backwards 6-8ft while in 1st gear with no emergency brake on, so not sure how my tranny would have been

everything will work out in the long run once i find a replacement. I'm just thankful for the guys next door and that insurance was absolutely amazing from the moment i called them

That's awful... so sorry. I'd be devastated if that happened to my car. Hope everything works out for you. And I hope that truck driver loses his bloody license. I'm really sick of the moronic drivers here in Canada. Every day I'm dodging cars on the road from doing idiotic things.

In terms of replacement cars... if you can sacrifice a bit of room (honestly not that much) get the 2013 E92 335. Looks just as good/new as the F30 side by side. Handles better, arguably. Supposedly the LCI remedies that, but now we're talking big bucks for a 2016 340i. Personally I wouldn't get an M3 unless I was taking it to the track a decent amount

Be glad they total it because major repairs never come out 100% perfect
