Piece together new interior or wait for whole?

After driving a new 340i with red interior and seeing some pictures of oyster on here, I realized that I really want to dump the dungeon that is my black interior.

Now ideally I would find someone that is willing to trade (locally) or a whole interior for sale (then sell mine), but not having much luck. I am wanting to get an oyster interior so I don't have to swap that much, and it looks so great. Would it be a bad idea to start piecing together an interior over time, or should I just wait it out and see if I can find a whole set?

IMO you'd be hard pressed to find a clean, full set for the Oyster combo as it seems to be pretty rare and those that have it aren't exactly wanting to swap it like those of us with beige, etc.

If you can stand the wait and are able to find bits and pieces, I'd go that route. I'm still debating on doing a solid two tone like Socket did or going the Oyster route myself, because that shit is beautiful.

Actually, your post inspired me to do some searching and I think you can piece it together pretty quickly on eBay alone.

Door panels (trim included): http://www.ebay.com/itm/COMPLETE-SET...BVuP2E&vxp=mtr

Center Console: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-51169170...VW4ezT&vxp=mtr

Rear seats: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E90-328i...tWK6CH&vxp=mtr

Passenger Seat (sport, heated - fair condition): http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E90-E91-...VW6L1u&vxp=mtr

Driver Seat (sport, heated - poor condition): http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E90-E91-...ZW6Lyl&vxp=mtr

It's obviously more expensive pieced together like this and you'd still need headliner, pillars, etc... but definitely do-able as a 'full set'.. just from (probably) different cars. :P

Yep, saw all those. That's what prompted me into this thinking set. Front driver seat isn't up to snuff. I'd probably also just buy a split armrest and do a direct replacement instead.
