Instrument cluster shutdown after tune

I've been really pleased with my tune except now I receive code 00A559 (instrument cluster shutdown) and CC-ID 415 (Battery Discharge warning) if the car is shut off more than an hour or so. But, the battery is not really losing charge as far as I can tell. No more than you would expect normally from opening the doors or trunk.

At first I figured this was normal because the battery was disconnected for a week while the tune was applied. Even though the battery was working OK, it was 8 years old and the eye was dark. So, I replaced the battery with Exide L5/49X and coded it as 110 AH regular battery using the Carly App. The coding was successful.

Any connectors not in use were bagged and zip-tied and placed out of the way, except the one up above the turbo, which I left open. The differential pressure sensor is still connected. No connectors are shorted or damaged. Three fuses were removed - two from behind the glove box and one inside the ECU compartment.

If you saw inside my ECU in a different thread you may know the programming solder pad was damaged by RS Worx and repaired by BPC. I don't know if this problem is related.

All battery connections are tight and clean.

So I am wondering, anyone know where I should start looking? Should I put the fuses back in? Remove the differential pressure sensor plug? New ECU?

That is a very weird problem. Old and low battery may have been causing the behaviour. However, if you are on a new battery then it's very strange. You could try by doing a process of elimination. I would be trying to swap a known good DDE, see what happens. Bet it's tied either to the DDE or the programming.

Weird indeed, the resets seem random. One time, the clock held time for 3 hours after the key was removed, and the next, only 2 minutes and it was reset to 00:00:00. I plan to remove and clean the battery charge sensor, and to re-check the ECU and battery connections. I don't suspect the vibration damper, alternator at this time.

Check all of your DDE connections, make sure all connectors are snug and locked and make sure you had not bent any pins. Do this all while the battery is disconnected though. While you are at a battery side, check how clean and well connected the terminals. Also, check IBS. Search on the forum there are some good threads on it. A failing one apparently causes havoc. Here is something to help you:

In my car, and maybe yours, the IBS appears to be on the positive battery terminal. On the negative side, it's a plain cable.
