Weight Loss

Sorry but I couldn't find the original thread

Anyway just a little thankyou for all the pointers many of you guys gave me 3 months or so ago on losing the lard.

I have lost approx one and a half stone and am now at my ideal weight of circa 12.5 stone and I am going to go out in a minute to celebrate with a late night Big Mac and a trip down to Caterham in the near future to see if I can more readily fit into a standard body instead of the 'fat boy special'

Well done Mark, great effort and keep it up.

PS I think I may have found those pounds you lost

Well done, that's on my list for this year, currently using every excuse under the sun.

Thanks chaps, did it by walking and running 50 miles a week and cutting out the sweets, cakes, chocolate and bread

Getting the bike in a few weeks and plan on a cycle trip around the highlands whilst the wife is in the States with her friends, that should keep the weight from coming back

Great job

I've bought an activity tracker/watch/heart rate thingy from garmin, and it's quite addictive making sure I've had way more steps and calories burned than the wife. It helps motivate me as I do a stupid amount of sitting and driving in the week.

I don't tell the wife that I attach it to the dog's collar every now and then though...

Well done. 50 miles a week is a lot? Presume you were relatively active before? What was your routine out of interest?

I try and run 20+ miles a week if time permits, so no idea how you did50!

I dont work as such anymore and I take the dogs out at 6 every morning for about 3 miles, so that is approx 21 miles, then 5 days a week I will run in the afternoon about 4 miles and the final 2 miles I walk to cool down.

Was doing the gym at the start but I got bored with that

I used to do a bit of walking/running/cycling but over the past few years I have been a lazy sod, hence the weight gain.

I actually feel really good and have loads of energy again

that is one of the main reasons (other than urgent health reasons) for exercise.

Just waking up and feeling good, or that buzz.

My fault is I use work as an excuse not to.

I live a few hundred yards from canal and have a Dalmatian (runs for ever when on bike).

I have huge respect for the none fit type of person running etc.

The Doris out every Sunday morning doing that slow jog / walk etc.

Well done Mark, it's not easy to shift the weight.
I won't say how many stone I've got to shift.

Mind, I stopped drinking 2-3 months ago, so that's a start......

Well done. Sounds like hard work though, I might just get fat gracefully and enjoy the wonder of Costco bulk buying and use remaps to keep my car's power to weight ratio decent
