2010 e92 Headrest Removal?

Hi everyone, I currently just purchased a 2010 e92. I just got notice from my current workplace that I will now be doing site visits and will be needing a ladder in my vehicle. With that said, I tried removing the passenger headrest, it has the button on the side so that it can slide up or down. But for some reason it won't go all the way out and I didn't want to yank it out because I was afraid I would break something. Anyone know if these headrests slide completely off or would I have to do something else? I've read some threads about an active headrest, how would I determine if mine are active or not?

Thanks everyone.

I learned this from a lifetime of 2 door coupes - instead of removing the headrest, lay the passenger seat all the way down. Put a dropcloth on it, and you're set.

Gotcha, I was considering that too but I just wanted to be safe and take off the headrest just in case of any damages but this works too! But do you know if these headrests actually come off?

Thank you!

Since I am in US, so many things are different, so I can't really answer that.

My '07 E92's were removable but my '11 E92's were not due to them being active. They added the active feature in US e92's somewhere between '07 and '11, if that helps. My guess would be '09. The non-active ones on both sports seats had nicer styling than the active ones did.

Check your owner's manual. My '07's OM explained how to remove them where my '11's said they are not removable.
