Aptitude / Assessment tests
Just had a nightmare flashback.
Went through a practice RAF airman assessment test. Link below is for an example for it. https://www.raf.mod.uk/recruitment/how-to-apply/ast/ It does take a while (25 mins), however worth it for a mini challenge for yourself or kids. I bombed a couple, I am putting that down to being old lol. |

I got 10/12 on literacy, full marks on the 2 maths sections, then my head exploded at the code thing and I gave up and went to B&Q to get some grout as our shower is in need of repair!
But, as I'm only a primary school teacher I'll probably get by. I will however be giving this to my class when we go back after Easter hols! |

They do tend to challenge how you use your brain, I like them up to a point lol.
My main weakness is mental arithmetic, maths I am great at, however even something like scoring in darts I suck at IF I have not done it for a while. |

The brain is just like the muscle, and mine is well out of shape.
I got as far as the spatial reasoning with only a couple of dropped marks (all verbal reasoning), but at 18.30 after a long day at work I just couldn't concentrate any longer. The multi-tasking world we live in now makes it very rare that many of us sit there and concentrate for very long on just one thing. Well, that's the case for me anyway

What does this say about me? Once upon a time I would have aced tests like this.
Yesterday I started, got irritated and ceased. What a loser. Do I get the job?

I swear one of the questions was wrong though, the question where 6 items equals 1200, another item costs half as much and 11 were bought in June, none of the answers was 1100. My answer was yes an m3 was affordable, but I couldn't find that option I am doing the test again!

That question took me the longest - the correct answer is there, you just need to read the question properly |

I actually did okay, however I managed far lower than required in the full time. Makes me one of the soup dribbling brigade lol. |
