BMS = JB4?

I'm a little confused because everyone is using two different names for the same product?

Is it completely plug and play for stage 1? or is there an option to utilize different maps?

Does it really need to be put in a plastic bag when installed?

If anyone could give me the 411 on the basics of this tune, I would appreciate it!

BMS = Burger Motorsports = Burger Tuning = The manufacturer of these parts

Stage 1 is 100% plug and play, only 2 connections... MAP and TMAP sensors

You cant change maps, you can either turn it on or turn it off
On = +4 PSI

No need to put it in a plastic bag, some do because they are scared of it getting water damaged.

Let me know what else i can help you with

Great info, thanks.

Is the BMS stage 1 the same as the Active 8 tune? How do they differ?

BMS stage 1 connects to MAP and TMAP sensors, it adds a constant +4 psi over the whole RPM range

A8 connects to MAP,TMAP and camshaft sensors ... This gives it the ability to add boost by RPM instead of a constant value across the board

It also offers different maps from conservative to aggressive ( +3 psi to + 6psi) +6 psi is not recommended with pump gas

Jb stage 1 is the perfect tune for stock cars looking for an easy install + noticeable gains
A8 offers more flexibility while keeping the install relatively simple

More info can be found in the thread i posted a while back

^ Good post and it sums it up perfectly.

I always say if you are just staying stock, BMS Stage 1 tune is a good way to go.

If you plan on modding further with downpipes, intercooler ETC consider the JB4.
