Bought an X1

Had issues with one of the office Mini's being a bit small.

Popped down to Chandlers last Thursday to pick up an X1 to try for the day. What a bloody brilliant little SUV. Ride good, handling entertaining and with the 2l diesel, sprightly enough and I got over 45mpg before I handed it back. I really loved it.

Okay, so it's not that cheap but I like a familiar Pro Nav and HUD (if I have to drive it) and it's perfect for what we need.

Funnily enough, got back in 335d and wondered why it had to have sh*t suspension - X1 was better!!!

Dealer found a new car fitting our needs at another dealer. Deal done and been shipped over to pick it up tomorrow.

Are you telling us that Chandlers BMW Hailsham were helpful:and you bought from them? You must have been feeling charitable? Or sorry for their lack of sales to youðŸ

The X1 looks a good deal better vehicle than the previous one, haven't driven one so can't comment on the dynamics. Hope the guys and girls appreciate the trouble you go to to keep them mobile.

Nope, bought from Brighton again. They are brilliant. Gave up trying to buy from Hailsham two cars ago.

Very nice, makes the X3 look very dated and on that basis probably why the engine line up on the X1 is a little ltd IMO

Twin pipes on a 20d X1 and yet they can't fit them to supposedly sporty high range 3 Series ........... where is the logic in that BMW??

I posted at the end of last year when I had one as a courtesy car whilst my own car (330d F31 Touring) was in the dealers getting scratched & serviced.

I really liked the X1 thought it was a massive improvement on the older car, drove really well with the 2.0d engine and auto box. It may have been due to the very low expectation level I had prior to driving it, but felt it was only some minor trim that let it down....and the gear lever! If buying a new one I reckon you'd have to b careful with the options as the list price of the courtesy car I had was over £42k.

Got over 50mpg on way back to office - not bad for engine with 14 miles. Park assist is hilarious - never used it before (and doubt will again as not my car).

Can get pricey but we went for Sport rather than xLine or MSport. Only things had to have was HUD and Pro Nav. Think it was about £36k ish which is a lot for something with a 1 in it but it's actually a nicer place to be than X3.

Actually yes, the quality of the damping on the X1 is streets ahead of my wallowy (now standard) car. Strange to believe but true!

I think the X3 was better than my car. Ridiculous.

I really like the X1 and have been looking at one to replace the wife's CRV but the price tag is putting me off.

It is a massive improvement on the last model which was as ugly as hell.
