How much is your excess mileage charge?

About to pickup my new 335d LCI touring. Got it on 10,000 miles/year but 21k final payment (just short) in 3 years time but excess mileage is 15.18p per mile. Seems a tad much in all honesty. Agreed??

Also does that include VAT or is that subject to VAT on top?

This is with BMW FS. 6.9% APR.

Thanks.

Mines 14p on a 430d, inclusive of VAT. If it doesn't say inclusive of VAT, it probably isn't.

I'm on 9.4 ish. Got mine on 4 year 8k.
When I worked out the price difference, to increase to 10k they were charging 7.8p anyway.

There's a couple of threads on here how some people have contacted BMWFS to increase their allowance and have done so without any increase in payments.

Might be worth a try.

Mine's 10.4p, but I don't care as I've increased it from 10kpa to 25kpa for free!

As suggested earlier, called BMW Financial Services and they will allow you to increase your mileage up to 20,000 per annum without any extra payment and still keeping the GFV as is.

I called them having taken my 330d on 8,000 per annum over 4 years, upped it to 15,000 and was sorted without question.

Thanks. I upped to 12k year in the end at the outset for an extra £20/month and reducing the balloon at the end by £720.

I may still call them and try and up to 15k just to be safe!

Loving the new 335d

If you call BMW FS and agree an increased mileage figure pa, do they simply amend the present agreement or send a new agreement? I'm just curious as I wondered whether it impacts the date that you could request a voluntary termination.

They send a note out amending your agreement BUT it states they can withdraw the amendment at any time. It's a temporary amendment. I can see no harm in amending as long as you are aware it can be withdrawn and the excess mileage charge still applies if it is withdrawn . If you're about to hand a car back at the end of term then get the agreement changed but if your at the start it's a gamble. Also if you trade your car in before the end of the agreement the mileage penalty is irrelevant as the mileage whether amended or not will be reflected in the cars trade in value.

When you did that, did you get it in writing with a revised contract?

Thank you. I'm just looking to keep my options open but it sounds straight forward. My actual mileage pa is only a couple thousand more than stated in the documentation. I'll give BMW FS a call next week.
